Fantastic! Snow has returned big time to the glacier ski areas in Austria and some ski resorts like Obergurgl are even reporting a good covering at village level.
Snow has been falling across the Austrian glacier ski areas – including 76cm on the Kitzsteinhorn glacier, a wapping 135cm on the Stubai glacier and up to a metre at Hintertux – according to skiinfo.co.uk.
The glacier ski areas in France, Italy and Switzerland haven’t been left out of this snow fall either.
Ruka in Finland has now opened for the season.
So it looks like the 2009-10 ski holiday season is about to get underway….and let’s hope it’s a great season. Is an early ‘dumping’ of snow a good sign?
