Online debt help and counselling is growing in popularity as it provides greater anonymity according to the Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS).
The CCCS debt charity is experiencing a growing demand for its online debt counselling service which has had 86,444 unique users during the first quarter of 2010. This is more than half the total number of users for the whole of 2009.
The CCCS debt remedy service, as it is called, allows someone to complete a full debt counselling session without having to identify themselves. This provides greater anonymity to users who may be unwilling to seek debt advice by telephone or in a face to face meeting.
As the service is also available via the CCCS website at any time, this is also helping greater usage by those whose debt problems are becoming serious. The debt remedy service is also completely free.
According to the CCCS, many people delay seeking help with their debt problems because they feel shame or embarrassment. Delays in delaying with debt matters can compound the problem so the anonymity offered by the CCCS online debt counselling service is welcomed by an increasing number of people.
The Debt Remedy service is available at anytime online at www.cccs.co.uk and the CCCS helpline is open 8am to 8pm, Monday to Friday, on 0800 138 1111. There is no charge for any of its services.
