Child car seat criteria

Just came across a great report from Which? detailing how so many parents underestimate the age or height at which a child no longer needs a child car seat.

I for one fall into this category!

It’s Child Safety Week this week so a very timely reminder of the child car seat criteria.

Richard Headland, Editor at Which? Car, said ‘It doesn’t matter if they’re 10 months or 10 years old, children need to use child car seats until they’re taller than 135 cm or they reach their twelfth birthday.’

A child car seat is absolutely vital to prevent injuries in a car crash.

You can get the seats from many outlets, including John Lewis and Mothercare.

There are also three Child Car Seat Centres in England where you can get advice on buying and installing seats – in Wigan (Lancashire), Bromley (Kent) and Rayleigh (Essex).
